MASS SHOOTING THREAT: Man Arrested for Threatening a County Fair

A California man was arrested over the weekend for threatening a mass shooting at the Los Angeles County Fair because he didn’t want to go with his parents.

Police say 22-year-old Erik Villasenor sent an email to staff at the fair saying, “someone was planning on doing a mass shooting on Sunday at the Fairgrounds.” Investigators were able to trace the email back to Villasenor and they arrested him at his parents’ house, where he lives. He told officers he did it because his parents wanted to take him to the fair and he didn’t want to go.

He was arrested and charged with making false threats. (NBC News)

Hot Takes:

  • This sounds like something a 10-year-old would do, not a 22-year-old.
  • Get a job and get out of your parents’ house.
  • The penalty should be stiff. People need to understand that you can’t make threats like this, and doing so will get you in a lot of trouble.
