BILL COSBY: Loses Bid to Overturn Sexual Assault Conviction

Bill Cosby’s bid to overturn his sexual assault conviction failed Tuesday when an appeals court upheld the verdict.

The comedian’s reps blasted the move, saying, “This news of the Superior Court denying Mr. Cosby’s appeal is appalling and disappointing, but it shows the level of corruption that resides in the Judicial System of Pennsylvania.”

The statement calls Cosby’s conviction for sexual assault “a political scheme to destroy America’s Dad.”

It ends by saying, “Mr. Cosby remains hopeful and he stands behind his innocence.”

Cosby is serving a three- to 10-year prison term for the 2004 assault of Andrea Constand.
