ROYALS: Queen Agrees to a “Period of Transition”

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has agreed to a “period of transition” allowing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to have a more “independent” role within the royal family.

After a crisis meeting of senior royals, she said she was “entirely supportive” of their wish for a new role but “would have preferred” them to “remain full-time working members of the royal family.”

The Queen said that “she expected final decisions to be reached in the coming days.”

Last week, Prince Harry and Meghan shocked the world when they announced they would be stepping back from the royal family. The couple will now split their time between the U.K. and Canada.

Hot Takes:

  • She really had no choice.
  • This is what you call damage control.
  • Maybe they sweetened the deal by giving the Queen a free subscription to Disney Plus.
