OKC & Westbrook – is MVP more important than wins?

OKC & Westbrook – is MVP more important than wins?

  • With the 4-1 series loss that the Thunder suffered to the Rockets, the Thunder management has to make a tough decision. They have a bonafide  star who plays hard every game and every minute that he is own the floor. The problem is he plays in a silo while playing the most important position on the court. As a point guard he has the responsibility of setting up the offense, keeping players involved, and being the coach on the floor. My fear is that Westbrook, as great as he is, will be a detriment to the Thunders pursuit of free agents. Not loss on future free agents such as Blake Griffin (former Oklahoma Sooner, and Oklahoma native) , is the fact that Kevin Durant decided that he could no longer coexist with Westbrook. Both Westbrook and the Thunder have to decide jointly what is more important, personal awards and accolades or winning a championship,  because as currently constructed and with the mentality he currently operates with, they are not real championship contenders.
