As Democrats debated in a meeting on Tuesday night whether they should start impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told Democratic leaders she’d like to see Trump “in prison.”
It happened as House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler pushed Pelosi to green light his committee to start an impeachment inquiry against the president.
Pelosi wouldn’t change her mind and responded to Nadler’s request by saying, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation, “I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison.” (Politico)
