UPDATE (9:50 a.m. ET): The second suspect arrested is not believed to be the shooter. Investigators say they’re looking for a third suspect. (ABC News)
Investigators in the Dominican Republic have made a second arrest in connection with the shooting for former baseball star David Ortiz.
It’s unclear if the person arrested was the suspected shooter. Police had already arrested 25-year-old Eddy Vladimir Féliz Garcia for being an accomplice to the attempted murder. He was allegedly driving the motorcycle which brought the gunman to the bar where the shooting took place. He was later surrounded and beaten by a crowd.
Prosecutors are still trying to determine a motive in the shooting. Ortiz’s manager Leo Lopez has stated that it appears to have been a hired hit job. Meanwhile, Ortiz is recovering in a Boston hospital after undergoing a second surgery. (Fox News)
