The distraught family of an Indiana toddler who tragically died after falling off a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in Puerto Rico is speaking out and disputing earlier police reports about what happened.
The little girl, identified as 19-month-old Chloe Wiegand, accidentally fell out of a window on the 11th floor of the “Freedom of the Seas” ship while it was docked in San Juan. Initial police reports said she had slipped out of the arms of her grandfather, Salvatore Anello, who was holding her by the open window.
The family insists that early reports suggesting that Anello was dangling Chloe out the window are false. Instead, they claim that she was sitting by the windows in the dining room and didn’t know that one of the panes was open, and she slipped out. She fell 100 feet and landed on a concrete dock. The family’s lawyer claims Royal Caribbean was negligent in leaving the window open. (Crime Online)
