With the last barrier removed by a judge, that auction of Madonna‘s personal memorabilia will go on sale next week.
The one item Madge really wanted removed was a breakup letter from Tupac Shakur. Not only is it going on the auction block, it’s been released in its entirety. The rapper laid it on the line firmly, but with a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down.
He wrote, in part, “I haven’t been the kind of friend I know I am capable of being. Not because I am evil or because you weren’t worthy, but at the risk of sounding over dramatic, the effects of racism make it difficult for a young black male to properly show affection for an older white woman. Please remember me not for my shortcomings but for the good times and the magic that we shared (assuming of course that I meant anything 2 u).”
The auction will take place on July 17th. (Daily Mail)
Hot Takes:
- He had a point – racism was even more prevalent then than it is now.
- If this had worked out, we might have seen the craziest wedding ever.
- Some people insist Tupac is still alive — maybe a reunion could happen.
