Boris Johnson, the American-born former mayor of London, will become the U.K.’s next prime minister, taking over for Theresa May who is stepping down.
The 55-year-old was the frontrunner to replace May and easily won a Conservative Party vote over his rival Jeremy Hunt. He will officially take over the office on Wednesday. Johnson, who led the 2016 Brexit referendum campaign, has promised to take the U.K. out of the European Union by October 31st. (USA Today)
