DONALD TRUMP: Sues California Over Requiring Presidential Candidates Tax Return Law

Donald Trump and the Republican Party are once again going to battle with California. On Tuesday, they filed suit against the state over its new law that requires presidential candidates to file tax returns in order to appear on the ballot in the primaries.

The bill was signed into law last week by Governor Gavin Newsom.

In their lawsuits, Trump and the Republican Party said the law is unconstitutional.

Trump continues to refuse to release his tax returns, despite repeated calls from the Democrats. He claims that he’s under audit by the IRS.

California and the Trump administration are engaged in more than 40 lawsuits on issues ranging from immigration to environmental regulation. (BBC News)

Hot Takes:

  • This should be an interesting legal battle.
  • What exactly is Trump hiding in his tax returns?
  • Trump’s already president – it’s ridiculous to keep him off the ballot.
