Sorry, Donald Trump, but Greenland is not for sale — so says the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Responding to a Wall Street Journal report saying President Trump has expressed an interest in purchasing the ice-covered island, Greenland tweeted, “We are open for business, not for sale.” The autonomous Danish territory also used the opportunity to promote itself, adding, “Greenland is rich in valuable resources such as minerals, the purest water and ice, fish stocks, seafood, renewable energy and is a new frontier for adventure tourism.”
The tweet includes a link to Greenland’s tourism site.
