Hurricane Irma Deaths: 2 Nurses Face Charges for 12 Deaths at a Nursing Home

Three employees of a Florida nursing home, including two nurses, turned themselves in to police yesterday (Monday) to face charges for their alleged role in the deaths of 12 patients in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma in 2017.

The hurricane knocked out the air conditioning at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills. Investigators said the nursing home did not evacuate patients as temperatures inside began rising. The employees are expected to be charged with manslaughter. (NBC News)
