Nine years after her death, Whitney Houston will be back on the road in 2020 — in hologram form.
Producers tell Music Week that the much-discussed tour, which got the green light from Whitney’s estate, is a definite “go,” although an exact start date isn’t clear. Seth Faber of Primary Wave, which is staging the event, says, “So much effort has gone into making the show as authentic as possible. It’s going to be a phenomenal experience.”
The company’s Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison hologram show kicks off in the U.K. next week.
Hot Takes:
- Imagine being a family member who had to approve a hologram of a loved one — talk about mixed emotions.
- Will producers have the hologram pop up on talk shows, too?
- Rapidly aging rockers might start using these things to fill in while they’re still alive.
