Pro football player DeSean Jackson honored the memory of Nipsey Hussle with some custom cleats.
The Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver got a custom cleat designer to customize Nipsey Hustle-Inspired footwear for each game this season. DeSean set the tone during pre-game warmups in Week 1 when he rocked some checkerboard cleats with Nipsey’s face and the words “Rest in Paradise” on the sides.
It seems like they may have been a good luck charm, too, since the star player wound up making eight catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns to help his team beat the Redskins.
DeSean posted on social media after, “Every game this year I’m auctioning my @nipseyhussle cleats I wear in pre-game. Proceeds will go to his kids Kross & Emani!! Link will be up this week. Rest in paradise bro!!”
Sports fans and sneaker heads will be able to see the next pair when the Eagles play the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. (TMZ)
Hot Takes:
- What’s dope is this isn’t just a way to raise money — it raises awareness, too.
- If the Eagles wind up going all the way this year, they may have Nipsey to thank.
- How often do you get a chance to own a piece of sports, music and fashion history all with one purchase?
- He probably won’t be able to rock a pair in Nipsey Blue, seeing as that isn’t a team color.
