Donald Trump has fired National Security Adviser John Bolton.
The President announced the move in a tweet writing, “I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration.”
He added that he’d asked for Bolton’s resignation and thanked him for his service. But Bolton responded in a tweet, “I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, ‘Let’s talk about it tomorrow.'”
The firing comes amid disagreements Bolton had with Trump over his recent invitation to Taliban leaders to come to Camp David for a meeting.
