Amazon Music is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.’s debut album, Ready to Die with a new mini-documentary.
It’s called The Birth of Biggie: 25 Years of Ready to Die and it features about nine minutes of interviews with the key players in Biggie’s rise to fame, including Mister Cee and Matty C. There’s also some archival audio from Biggie speaking on the making of his first album and what he set out to accomplish.
The Birth of Biggie: 25 Years of Ready to Die is now streaming on Youtube. Amazon Music subscribers can also listen to the documentary’s audio on their home and mobile devices via the Amazon Music app.
Hot Takes:
- There’s a reason people call him one of the top five, dead or alive.
- It’s always interesting to get the perspective of the folks that were there from day zero.
- Rest in power, Big.
- 25 years later and he still holds the crown.
- Amazon Music is really trying to show they’re down with hip hop. Earlier this summer, Amazon Prime Video released the Free Meek docuseries, and now there’s this. Plus, they’re airing Rihanna‘s Savage X Fenty fashion show. I wonder who they’ll work with next.
