Racism is certainly alive and well in America, but so are hoaxes.
A 12-year-old Virginia girl has admitted that she made up a story about her classmates pinning her down and cutting off her dreadlocks.
The family of the girl has apologized to the boys’ families and released a statement saying, “To the administrators and families of Immanuel Christian School, we are sorry for the damage this incident has done to trust within the school family and the undue scorn it has brought to the school. We understand there will be consequences, and we’re prepared to take responsibility for them. To the broader community, who rallied in such passionate support for our daughter, we apologize for betraying your trust.”
There’s no word whether the girl, who is a straight-A student, will face any charges.
