TACO BELL: Recall on Their Beef

Taco Bell has recalled two million pounds of seasoned ground beef from restaurants in 21 states across the country over concerns it may have been contaminated with metal shavings.

The recalled meat, which is used in tacos and burritos, was produced between September 20th and October 4th, and shipped out from five distribution centers. The recall impacts restaurants in the eastern Midwest, northern Southeast and Northeast regions. The problem was discovered after a customer found a piece of metal in their food.

Taco Bell’s president issued a statement saying, “Nothing is more important than our customers’ safety, and nothing means more to us than their trust. As soon as we received the first consumer complaint, we immediately acted to remove the product from the affected restaurants and proactively worked with the supplier to inform the USDA of our steps to protect our guests.” (USAe Today)

Hot Takes:

  • Taco Bell did the right thing. They’re not taking any chances.
  • The restaurants still have ground beef, so don’t worry.
