Tina Turner surprised the audience at last night’s Broadway opening of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical at New York’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
The 79-year-old legend joined the cast and creative team on stage at the end of the show and gave an emotional speech to the excited audience, which included Oprah Winfrey, Spike Lee, Whoopi Goldberg, Chita Rivera and Bernadette Peters.
Turner wore a gold gown and told the audience, “This musical is my life but it’s like poison that turned to medicine. I can never be as happy as I am now.” (People)
