BURGER KING: Vegans File a Lawsuit to Cook Burgers on Separate Grills

Burger King has been hit with a class-action lawsuit by a group of vegans who claim the fast food giant makes false claims about its Impossible Whopper being a vegan alternative.

The suit argues that since Burger King cooks the plant-based burger on the same grill the meat burgers are cooked on, it cannot claim the Impossible Whoppers are vegan. It goes on to state that there are no disclosures on the menu letting customers know that the Impossible Whoppers share the same grill.

The lawsuit, which was filed by a man named Phillip Williams, seeks unknown damages and a court order forcing Burger King to cook Impossible Whoppers on a separate grill. (TMZ)

Hot Takes:

  • He has a fair argument. Don’t call the burgers vegan of they come into contact with meat.
  • A lot of restaurants serve Impossible meat now, and you have to assume they’re using the same grill and pans they use for meat.
  • If vegans are really concerned, they could just ask before ordering.
  • Seriously, the Impossible Whopper tastes so much like the real thing, most vegans probably wouldn’t even know if they were given a real Whopper.
