PRESIDENT TRUMP: Considering Testifying in the Impeachment Inquiry

President Donald Trump says he will “consider” providing testimony in the impeachment inquiry “in order to get Congress focused again.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told CBS’ Face the Nation, “The president could come right before the committee and talk, speak all the truth that he wants if he wants … He has every opportunity to present his case.” In reply, the President tweeted today, “Even though I did nothing wrong, and don’t like giving credibility to this No Due Process Hoax, I like the idea and will, in order to get Congress focused again, strongly consider it!”

The House Intelligence Committee will hold three more days of hearings this week.

@realDonaldTrump

….that I testify about the phony Impeachment Witch Hunt. She also said I could do it in writing. Even though I did nothing wrong, and don’t like giving credibility to this No Due Process Hoax, I like the idea & will, in order to get Congress focused again, strongly consider it!

Hot Takes:

  • He only said he would consider it. He didn’t say he would actually do it.
  • There’s no way he would sit and answer questions from committee members.
  • Maybe he would provide a carefully written testimony, like he did with the Mueller probe.
  • He did nothing wrong. He should testify before Congress. He has nothing to hide and it will shame the Democrats greatly to hear the truth.
