IMPEACHMENT: House Democrats Expected to Release a Report Today

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee will release their report on the impeachment inquiry today to the public and then turn it over to the House Judiciary Committee ahead of its first hearing tomorrow.

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee have released their own report in which they defend President Trump‘s dealings with Ukraine and argue that the impeachment inquiry is an attempt by the Democrats to overturn the results of the 2016 election.

President Trump, meanwhile, is in London to meet with NATO leaders and went on the offensive today slamming the impeachment probe and saying, “I think it’s very unpatriotic of the Democrats to put on a performance where they do that. I do. I think it’s a bad thing for our country. Impeachment wasn’t supposed to be used that way.” (NBC News)

Hot Takes:

  • Members of the House Intelligence Committee are able to read and review the report today, but it won’t be released until they approve it.
  • Adam Schiff, the chairman of the Intelligence Committee, says they will continue working on the impeachment probe even after they release the report.
  • Trump still insists the whole thing is a hoax.
  • It’s sad. Trump should be focused on meeting with other world leaders today. Instead, he has to keep addressing the impeachment probe.
