JIMMY CARTER: Back in the Hospital

Just days after he was released following brain surgery, former President Jimmy Carter was back in the hospital over the weekend for a urinary tract infection, his office announced on Monday.

His spokeswoman, Deanna Congileo, said in a statement, “He is feeling better and looks forward to returning home soon. We will issue a statement when he is released for further rest and recovering at home.”

The 95-year-old Carter became the longest-living president in American history. In recent months, he’s been hospitalized several times for falls and he recently underwent an operation to reduce pressure on his brain. (The New York Times)

Hot Takes:

  • Get well soon, Jimmy!
  • Getting old is not for the faint of heart.
  • Until recently, Carter was out helping to build houses for Habitat for Humanity.
