House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just addressed the nation and announced that she has asked House committee chairmen “to proceed with articles of impeachment” against President Trump.
The announcement comes a day after the House Judiciary Committee heard testimony from top constitutional scholars on Capitol Hill. Three of the four law professors testified that President Trump’s actions represent a clear abuse of power and grounds for impeachment.
Pelosi repeated in her address that “In America, no one is above the law,” and insisted that “Our democracy is at stake.”
