Jussie Smollett may return to Empire for the series finale.
The actor was written out of the FOX music drama after allegedly faking a fake hate crime in January, but showrunner Brett Mahoney tells TV Line Smollett’s return is being “discussed.” Mahoney adds, “It would be weird in my mind to end this family show and this family drama of which he was such a significant part of without seeing him.”
But Mahoney says that “there’s no plan as of yet to bring him back.”
