MEXICO: American Teenager Killed in Ambush

An American teenager who had traveled to Mexico with her family was shot to death Saturday night in an ambush near Texas, according to the attorney general’s office in the Mexican state of Tamulipas.

According to El Universal, the family of permanent U.S. residents were returning to the U.S. when a car collided with their SUV with Oklahoma plates in an attempt to make them stop. When they didn’t, gunmen fired on the family and then fled.

Although the names of the victims weren’t initially released, the attorney’s office confirmed that the 13-year-old girl was a U.S. citizen. Three others were injured. (FOX News)
