JAY-Z AND RIHANNA: Donated $1 Million Each to Fight Against the Coronavirus

Jay-Z and Rihanna are both stepping up big time in the fight against the coronavirus.

The Shawn Carter Foundation and the Clara Lionel Foundation will chip in $1 million each towards COVID-19 response efforts. The money will “support undocumented workers, the children of frontline health workers and first responders, and incarcerated, elderly and homeless populations in New York City and Los Angeles.” The donation will also fund “daycare, learning materials, food and supplies for the children of frontline healthcare workers and first responders, providing learning materials for the over 20,000 children and youth learning in shelters and virtual mental health support for parents, and ensuring child-care centers are clean, have smaller clusters of children and that all personnel are protected.” (Billboard)

Hot Takes:

  • We’ve all got to do our part.
  • It’s cool to see the rich and famous stepping up, but what about some of these loaded CEOs?
  • This money will go a long way towards helping some of the most vulnerable populations.
  • This is what being a mogul is all about.
