Our prayers have been answered — Rihanna says she’s “very aggressively working on music.”
Fans have been hounding her for the follow-up to 2016’s Anti for years. And though she’s hard at work, she adds, “I can’t say when I’m going to drop.”
The vision for R9 is unclear. “There are no rules. There’s no format. There’s just good music, and if I feel it, I’m putting it out.” The bottom line is she’s “wide open” and “can make anything [she] wants.”
She also told British Vogue about her family goals. She aspires to have three or four kids, even if she has to raise them on her own. “I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong…’ They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives… But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love.”
Hot Takes:
- Rihanna could put out an album of her breathing into the microphone and it would go straight to number-one.
- She’s 100 percent right. At this point in her life, Rihanna can do whatever the hell she pleases.
- Just don’t forget about us, Ri. Please don’t stop the music…
