Tekashi 6ix9ine could be released from prison by the end of the day (Wednesday).
Judge Paul Engelmayer says he’s “inclined” to offer compassionate relief to the Brooklyn rapper. Inner City Press reports that the Bureau of Prisons denied 6ix9ine’s release earlier this week, but a second appeal attempt looks more promising. The court has asked the government to respond by 5 p.m. today to advise whether it has the authority to “grant the relief requested by the defense counsel.”
He’s currently scheduled for an August release.
Hot Takes:
- Lots of inmates are getting a break due to fears of the coronavirus spreading in overcrowded prisons that lack basic hygiene items and PPE.
- He’ll be coming home to a whole new world.
- Free Tekashi!
- He might still be on house arrest or some other type of monitoring.
- We’re all kind of on house arrest right now.
