Wiz Khalifa is playing a virtual benefit concert on Thursday — but he needs your help.
The interactive concert experience will allow viewers to connect with Wiz — for a price. While anyone can watch the show for free on Genius Live, YouTube Live, Instagram Live, Facebook Live and Twitch, $10 will let you officially join the “watch party.” Pony up $100 and you can get a shoutout from Wiz. Or, if you have a question you simply must have answered, kick in $200 bucks and ask away.
Wiz also wants help picking the set list. Starting today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. eastern, you can log on to Genius Live to pick your favorite tracks for Wiz to perform. The show will be hosted by Rob Markman.
Proceeds will go towards the Pittsburgh-based non-profit the Black Political Empowerment Project which helps ensure the city’s Black community is able to vote.
Hot Takes:
- This could become a new trend in live events.
- Wiz is giving the people what they want — literally.
- Before you complain about people paying $100 for a shoutout, remember that people pay for video shootouts via apps like Cameo all day long.
