Tamar Braxton’s new WeTV reality series has been pushed back until the Fall.
The new show was supposed to premiere Thursday on WeTV — But just days ahead of the launch, the network is putting Get Ya Life! On hold.
Earlier this month, Braxton was hospitalized following a suicide attempt. Prior to that, she wrote a critical letter to WeTV. “I am a slave. I do not own my life. My stories. My pictures. My thoughts or beliefs. I’ve asked my massa to free me. I’m threatened and punished for it. The only way I see out is death. I will choose that before I continue to love like this. Please help me.”
Get Ya Life! will premiere on September 10th.
Hot Takes:
- This is the right call. It’s tone deaf to put this out now.
- It’s kind of hard to promote a show when the star talent is at odds with the network.
- Better to put things on ice for now instead of risk a lawsuit or serious backlash after it airs.
- This is just the network publicly trying to protect their image. What are they doing to help Tamar get the help she needs?
