Another Arrest Finally Made in Shooting

Lake Charles Police have arrested a third man in connection with a shooting that left one person dead and three others injured, two critically. The shooting happened on April 6 about 3:45 a. m. on Tulip street in Lake Charles. When officers arrived, they found four people shot. Cody Lastrapes, 22, died at the scene. Three others were hospitalized; one is in stable condition and two remain in critical condition, police said. During the investigation, Detectives interviewed several witnesses and identified three men as being involved. Deon Tobia  Demoruelle, 19, was booked with two counts illegal use of weapons or dangerous Instrumentality and Obstruction of Justice-tampering with evidence. His bond was set at $225,000. Jkristopher Demond Scott, 19, was booked with one count of second -degree murder and three counts of attempted second -degree murder. His bond is set at $1million. A juvenile, 16, was booked with one count second -degree murder and three counts attempted second degree murder. Andre Jordan Broussard, 25, was booked with one count second-degree murder and three counts attempted second degree murder. His bond is set at $900,000. The investigation is ongoing.
