At home, in an elimination game, playing the Spurs WITHOUT Kawaii Leonard- and the Rockets find a way to lose this game. I place part of the blame on Mike D’Antoni and his refusal to go past his 7 man rotation, but unfortunately for Harden, this loss will fall completely at his feet. Although LaMarcus Aldridge scored 34 points and added 12 rebounds against a small and depleted Rockets front court, as the leader of the team and an MVP candidate, Harden can’t go 2-11, 10 points/7assist/6 turnovers in an elimination game and expect to be considered a superstar. You can’t lose at home 114-75 in a win or go home game and expect to be considered as a true championship contender. Harden is still young enough to recover and this really highlights how difficult it is to be a true superstar in a league full of stars.
