She had a kidney transplant. The donor: her husband!
In “Tina Turner: My Love Story”, her soon-to-be-released autobiography, the 78-year-old singer said her husband, Erwin Bach, offered to be the donor.
Turner said, “[He] shocked me by saying that he wanted to give me one of his kidneys.”
She said she was “overwhelmed by the enormity of his offer.”
Turner encourages people to become organ donors.
