Tiffany Haddish wants to make what the guys make — when being paid for her movie roles.
Haddish said in an interview with Variety magazine, “I think the reason why, a lot times, we [women] don’t get paid the same as men do is because we don’t talk about it. I think we do need to talk about it.”
She said she’s asked another actress, Kate Hudson, how much she’s paid for certain movie parts, and then she knows what to ask for when negotiating her salary.
“So, that’s why I do the research. I ask around,” said Haddish. “I’ve made friends with line producers that cut those checks, production managers, so I can be like, ‘So, on average, how much does a girl get paid for? How much does a guy get paid?’ OK, I’m gonna ask for the guy fee on this one.”
Haddish continued, “You know what they say? ‘A closed mouth don’t get fed.’”
