DONALD TRUMP: Congratulates the Chiefs for Super Bowl Win

President Trump tweeted his congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs last night on their Super Bowl victory and was immediately ridiculed on social media for thinking the Chiefs play in Kansas. They of course play in Kansas City, Missouri.

He tweeted, “Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on a great game, and a fantastic comeback, under immense pressure. You represented the Great State of Kansas and, in fact, the entire USA, so very well. Our Country is PROUD OF YOU!”

After about 12 minutes, and a storm of mockery on Twitter, the tweet was deleted and replaced with, “Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on a great game and a fantastic comeback under immense pressure. We are proud of you and the Great State of Missouri. You are true Champions!”

Hot Takes:

  • He was probably shocked to learn that there is a Kansas City in Missouri.
  • In all fairness, there’s probably a lot of Americans who think they play in Kansas.
  • Big deal. The New York Jets and the New York Giants both play in New Jersey.
  • He said “our country is proud of you.” Maybe, but probably not so much in Northern California.
